Agnes M. Beauchamp

Agnes M. Beauchamp, 96, Flat Rock, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday August 14, 2010 at Bishop Noa Home. She was born on January 17, 1914, the daughter of the late Adalord and Georgiana (Nadon) Plouff in Flat Rock. In 1936 she married the late William Beauchamp at Holy Family Church.

Agnes enjoyed cooking, baking, playing cards and dominoes with her family and had earned her nickname as "cookie grandma". In her past, she had worked as the camp cook at different logging camps and as a housekeeper at Bishop Noa Home and for different residents homes in the area. Agnes was also the Escanaba Township Clerk.

She is survived by four sons: Norman (Anne) Beauchamp of St. John, MI, Jim (Pat) Beauchamp of Flat Rock, Duane (Glenda) Beauchamp of Flat Rock and Alan (Denise) Beauchamp of Kenosha, WI, twenty-nine grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons: Robert (Lorraine) Beauchamp and Ronald Beauchamp, one great-granddaughter: Lauren Beauchamp, one great-grandson: Paul Beauchamp Jr. and fourteen siblings.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 18, 2010 at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Holy Family Church with Fr. Jose Maramattam officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the Fr. Matt Hall at church. Burial will take place in the Escanaba Township Cemetery.
