Betty June Kirschner, 92, Powers, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers with family by her side. She was born September 13, 1927 in Aurora, Wisconsin, daughter of the late William Albert and Elizabeth Jane (Palmatier) Davis. She married William Michael Kirschner on December 7, 1946 and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2009.
Betty would frequently say she, “Never met a stranger” which means she was friendly and approachable to anyone and everyone. No one is a stranger, just a friend they haven't spoken to yet. She would help anyone at any time, always caring for others. She had worked as a waitress at various restaurants and is mainly remembered from working at the old Gambles hardware store in Powers for 18 years.
Betty was an avid Packer Fan. She loved to crotchet, entering her afghans into many fair exhibits and won many ribbons. She also loved painting and trips to the local casino. She enjoyed attending the Carney Free Church and was on the board at Pleasant Acres in Powers for 20 years, with 12 of those years being treasurer.
Among survivors include her Children: Dennis (Addie) Kirschner, Richard (Ingrid) Kirschner, Kathy (Randy) Viau, William (Lisa) Kirschner Jr. and Patty (Pete) Lebeau, Son-in-law: Virgil Kiser, one sister: Joyce Gennara, grandchildren: Lorrie Kaufman, Michael Labelle, Weston Frisby, Summer (Ryan) Moore, Ricky Kirschner Jr., Jessica (Kevin) Zimmer, Lynn Kirschner, Rob (Denise) Maule, Bryan (Cassandra) Maule, Cassandra Kirschner, Kristi LeBeau and Keith LeBeau, step-grandchild: Dustin (Ally) Viau, great-grandchildren: Michael Kaufman, Maggie Kaufman, Nicole LaBelle, Michael LaBelle, Tegan LaBelle, Jason Labelle, Gianna Maule, Grace Maule, Beau Maule, Jaden Maule, Alonha Frisby, Trevan McLeod, Colin McLeod, Owen Zimmer and step-grandchildren: Eli Viau, Olivia Viau, Mya Zimmer, Emma Zimmer, great great-grandchild: Amyrah Sicca, very special Niece Jeanette: Deldin, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daughter: Darlene M. Kirschner-Kiser, four brothers: Claude Davis, Gerald Davis, George Davis and William Davis, three Sisters: Maureen Wahlstrom, Isabel Anderson and Donna Arnold, and daughter-in-law: Ingrid Kirschner.
In keeping with Betty’s wishes, there will be no public services. Her family will celebrate her life together at a later date.
