Blanche "Marie" Wery

          Blanche "Marie" Wery, 84, Hermansville, passed away on Sunday May 31, 2020 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers. She was born on January 4, 1936 in Escanaba, daughter of the late James and Dorena (Goreau) Martin. On November 28, 1977 she married the late Richard Wery.
 
          Marie was a member of St. John Neumann Church and the St. Anne's Society. She worked at Frigo cheese factory in Carney for 20 years. Marie loved to sew, embroider, play cards with family and friends, but mostly spend time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her cats.
 
          She is survived by three children: Keith Smiltneek, Bob Smiltneek and Janet (Timothy) Thiry, three sisters: Edith (Weldon) Kiernan, Joyce Frisque and Linda Smiltneek, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister-in-law: Elnora Martin and her special cat: Cuddles.
 
          Marie was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, sister and brother-in-laws: Joan and Roland St. Aubin, Marcella and Walt Wicklund and Vincent Frisque, brother: Gary Martin, daughter-in-law: Marlene (Beauchamp) Smiltneek.
 
          Services at this time are private for the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding with Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. Burial will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
 
          The Allo Coolman Funeral Homes are assisting the Wery family.
