Brian S. Bowden
Date of Death: April, 08 2023

Brian S. Bowden, 61, Escanaba, passed away on Saturday evening April 8, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 8, 1961 in Chicago, IL, son of the late William and Bonnie (Boots) Bowden. On may 15, 1982 he married the former Terri Hansen at St. Patrick's church in Escanaba.

Brian graduated from Escanaba High School in 1980 and then worked in retail management. Brian was a jack of all trades, being able to fix or build anything in and around the house. What he loved doing most though, was building race cars from scratch with his sons Billy, Brandon and Bob B., and just working on cars in general. One of his proudest moments was watching his son win a championship at the race track. He will be missed and loved by all his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, sons: Brandon Bowden and Billy (Felicia) Bowden, grandchildren: Emma, Jaelyn, Ellie, Brian, Brent and soon to be: baby William Charles, brother-in-law: Jerry (Trina) Hansen, sisters-in-law: Nancy (Tony) Przewrocki, Wendy (Keith) LaChapelle and Shelly (Rance) Hansen, many special nieces, nephews and friends all whom adored him, and his beloved dog: Willy.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, a son: Brent Bowden, brother: William Bowden, sister: Jeanette Bowden, mother-in-law: Clara "Jean" Hansen and father-in-law: Gerald Hansen.

His family is planning a celebration of Brian's life later this spring. A notice of service details will be forthcoming.

His family would like to thank the caregivers at St. Francis Home Health and Hospice, the staff in the O.S.F. ER and SCU and the Bellin Oncology team.

The Allo Coolman Funeral Homes are assisting the Bowden family.

  • "I was a Classmate of his brother Bill's, who passed away several years ago. I was lucky enough to get to know Brian when he lived here at the Harbor Tower for a short while. He would join us for Greed (dice) and other things going on here. He was a friendly man and I always enjoyed his company. He moved out after awhile. As a Senior Companion Volunteer, he lived across the street from a home I was volunteering at in North Town. I noticed he was outside of where I was. I came out, and he shook my hand, thanking me for being such a good friend. At this point I didn't hang around with him at all, but would see him occasionally. I even tried helping him trace his ancestry at one time. He always valued a friendship and let you know. Sorry to hear of his passing. He'll be sadly missed. "
