David L. Forsberg

David L. Forsberg, 68, Spalding, passed away on Tuesday September 22, 2015 at the V.A. Hospital in Iron Mountain with his loving wife by his side. He was born on September 2, 1947 in Menominee, MI, the son of Carol Jean (Foley) and the late Lester Forsberg. On March 18, 1967 he married the former Doris Pirlot at St. Francis Xavier Church in Spalding.
David proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, serving in the Special Operation Black Spot and receiving the Bronze Star. He was an avid pigeon enthusiast from his childhood throughout his life and loved and adored his family.
He is survived by his wife, his mother, three children: Denise (Don Meyer) Edwards, David L. Forsberg II and Darrick G. Forsberg, three sisters: Dawn (Mike) Tanguay, Darcel (Mark) Hamister and Doreen Forsberg, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday October 6, 2015 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding with Tony Revord American Legion Post #244 Rites at 3:30. p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church with Fr. Michael Vichich officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Spalding Township Cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.
