Dennis J. Paquin Sr., 84, Spalding, passed away on Monday January 7, 2013 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers after a long battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on September 23, 1928 in Hermansville, the son of the late Raymond and Oneida (Murray) Paquin. On November 7, 1946 he married the late Violet Swille at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Escanaba.

Dennis lived his whole life in the Spalding area where he worked most of his life as a woodsman. He and his wife where known to their friends as "Uncle Den & Auntie Vi". He enjoyed anything to do with the woods, especially cutting brush and firewood. Also gardening, spending time in his garage, but most of all, being with his family and friends. Dennis was a member of St. John Neumann Church in Spalding.

He is survived by his five children: Donna (Francis) Gatien, Dennis (Lynn) Paquin Jr., Raymond (Patti) Paquin, Lori (John) Wolsker and Robert "Bob" (Jo Ann) Paquin, one brother: Edward Paquin, one step-sister: Mary Ellen Lamaide, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on September 20, 2005, step-father: Henry Maki and one step-sister: Charlene Otradovec.

Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. (CST) on Thursday January 10, 2013 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home is Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding with Fr. Michael Vichich officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. Burial will take place in the Spalding Township Cemetery in the spring.
