Derrick E. Bohn
Date of Death: May, 22 2018

Derrick E. Bohn, 49, Gladstone, went home to be with his Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday May 22, 2018. He was born on September 22, 1968 in Shawnee, KS, the son of Vicky (Hall) and the late Larry Bohn. On August 25, 1990 he married the love of his life, the former Wendy Orrick in Owasso, OK.

Derrick felt his calling and knew he wanted to preach the word of the Lord at the age of 15. He later won a preaching contest at the age of 18, and from that was awarded a scholarship to college where he studied theology earning his Doctorate degree down the line. He then preached at different churches for over 25 years. Derrick was also proud to be an Eagle Scout. He always had an entrepreneurial spirit about himself which led to even more endeavors throughout his life. Most recently, Derrick achieved a personal goal becoming a pilot, and for the past three years enjoyed seeing as much of the U.S. with friends, family and especially his wife as he could fit into his busy schedule.

He is survived by his mother, his loving wife, his three daughters: Karis Bohn, Elizabeth Bohn and Deborah Bohn, one brother: Jared (Melanie) Bohn, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Derrick was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday May 27, 2018 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home (400 S. 10th St, Escanaba, MI 49829). A celebration of Derrick's life will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Culbertson officiating. A fellowship gathering will be held following services at the Wellspring Community Church located in the Escanaba Mall.

In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made in to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
