Condolences
  • "When I lent my ear, he thanked me. When I needed him, he helped me without question. When I yelled at him, he forgave me with a laugh. He was a friend, and I will miss his presence in my life. It is but a small measure of your loss."
    -Steve Kluskens

  • "I was privileged to work for Doug over the years. The memories I have of Doug will stay with me forever. I am proud to say I was his employee, but even more proud to say I was his friend. May his memory make each of us smile as we remember the many things that made him special. I pray that all his family finds peace and comfort at this time of loss. Au Revoir Doug, you were a great friend. "

  • "When a Door Closes A Window Opens... That is what Doug was to Patrick and I. In 1978, when the small business, Patrick worked for suddenly decided to close its doors; Doug was that opened window for Patrick. Then again in 1989, when Frigo Cheese closed their Carney doors, he was that window again. Patrick had three job offers at that time, and as Doug knew, I was so grateful and still am, when he chose to return to Wendricks Truss. The business has always been ran as extended family, in which it still is. We have GREAT memories from your mom and dad’s basement... to Dobbyn’s ... and then to The Crossroads... I am so grateful that you accepted us, open armed into your family. You have been like a brother to both Patrick and I. Thank you for the love, respect, counseling and guidance you have always had the time or made the time to give. In the past 6 days, I have had a difficult time realizing that we will not be having anymore of our impromptu talks and laughs; it definitely be missed our friend. You will be missed, and until we meet again... Give everyone Hugs in Heaven and WATCH over all of us that love you. With Great Love, Respect and Prayers, Shirley and Patrick Johnson "
