  Geraldine “Gerry” Mary (Fillion) Derusha, 84, Escanaba, entered into her loving Savior’s arms on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. She was born on April 18, 1933 in Flat Rock (Gladstone), MI,  daughter of Joseph and Anna (Chouinard) Germain- Fillion. She married Lawrence Derusha at Holy Family Catholic Church in Flat Rock on Sept 9, 1950.
          Gerry briefly worked at Neisner's 5 & 10 store in Escanaba, MI. Was a member of the Knights of Columbus Woman’s Auxiliary, Cub Scout Den Mother for 3 yrs, she volunteered at Christian Park Nursing home for 14 yrs. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Escanaba, MI. She organized catholic services at nursing homes in the area for 14 yrs, was a former president of Escanaba Deanery Council of Catholic Women for 10 yrs.
          Her pastimes included walking, riding her bike, sewing, crocheting, fixing puzzles, traveling writing many articles with photos for the Daily Press and U.P. Catholic.
          She is survived by her loving husband: Lawrence “Larry” Derusha, daughter: Debra (Tony) Fudala, Escanaba, two sons: Phillip Derusha Lake Havasu City, AZ, and Garry Derusha, De Pere, WI: grandchildren: Jodi (Mike) Bizeau, Escanaba, Jason (Amy) Fudala, Gladstone, Jessy (Dave) Poe, Rapid River, Ashley (Curtis) Doyon, Loveland, CO, Phillip Derusha Jr (P.J.) Lake Havasu City, AZ, Justin (Dee Fenske) Derusha, and Sarah (Jeremy) McCoy, De Pere, WI, great grandchildren: Michael Bizeau, Jordan P. Fudala-Brooks, Portland, OR, Jared Bizeau, Logan Fudala, Beau Racine, Ethan & Emily Poe, Dillon & Alyssa Doyon, Brayden, Ava, & Colton McCoy, and great-great grandchildren: Evan LeClaire, Noah, Morgan, Brady, and Alana Bizeau.
          She was preceded in death by her parents: Joseph & Anna (Chouinard) Germain-Fillion, brothers: Reyne, John, Laurence, Clarence, and Henry Germain, and Herman, Clifford, Phillip and Geral Fillion, sisters: Ora (Germain) Scanlan, Margaret (Germain) Chenier, Leona (Fillion) Delveaux, Rosella (Fillion) Flagstadt, and Theresa (Fillion) Veraghen, two unborn children, daughter-in-law: Susan (Garry) Derusha, and many family and friends who are waiting at heaven’s gate to welcome her home with open arms.
          Friends may call on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) at St. Anne Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation on Monday at church at 12 p.m. (noon) with Fr. Francis DeGroot officiating. A meal will follow mass on the church parish hall. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
          In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to The Knights of Columbus Women's Auxiliary.
