            Joseph "Joe" Levi Berube, 89, Escanaba, passed away on Friday November 18, 2016 at Tendercare Health Center in Munising, MI surrounded by family. He was born on July 17, 1927 in Wells, MI, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Derusha) Berube. On September 27, 1947 he married the former Joyce Courier at St. Patrick's Church and she precedes Joe in death.
 
          Joe proudly served in the United States Army.
 
           He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and tinkering in his back yard. Joe loved to be surrounded by his family and attend all the family activities. He had a great love of dancing.
 
          Joe was a devoted member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and member of the VFW Post 2998.
 
          He is survived by six sons: Louie (Kay) Berube, Jack (Lee) Berube, Robert (Traci) Berube, Fran (Chris) Berube, Jim (Cheryl) Berube, and Rick (Mary) Larson, four daughters, Lois Werner, Mary Anderson, Joan (Tom) Pascoe, and Theresa (Dan) Pascoe, sister, Corrine (Jack) Wigand,  33 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
 
          Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Joyce, two sisters: Beatrice LaPine and Mercedes Beecher, and one great grandchild.
 
          Friends may call from 12:30 to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 23, 2016 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba with Delta County Veterans Council rites at 2:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Anthony of Padua in Wells with Fr. Rick Courier officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Holy Cross Cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.
