          Joseph "Smoe" E. Luft, 58, Flat Rock, passed away on Tuesday May 12, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on August 15, 1961 in Escanaba, son of the late Melvin and Theresa (Blanchette) Luft.
          Joe graduated from Gladstone High School in 1980. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at camp, hunting and family gatherings at the farm.
          Joe is survived by two brothers: Jim (Maradee) Luft and Larry (April) Luft, four sisters: Carol (Don Small) Luft, Patty (John) Kasbohm, Rita (Jim King) Wildey and Jenny (Terry) Allard, and nieces and nephews: Malarie Luft, Amber (Ken) Robitaille, Dalton Wildey, Sam, Evie, Charlie and Josie Luft and Alyssa Allard.
          He was preceded in death by his parents, sister: Shirley Luft and brother: Gerald Luft.
          His family will celebrate his life with a private family gathering at Allo Coolman Funeral Home and committal prayers at Escanaba Township Cemetery with Fr. Rick Courier officiating.
          The Allo Coolman Funeral Homes are assisting the Luft family.
