            Lawrence "Larry" J. Chouinard Jr., 82, Gladstone,  passed away on Monday November 2, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Lawrence was born in Escanaba on June 19, 1938. He attended and graduated from Holy Name School in 1956 before attending Michigan Tech for one year where he met his wife, Darlene (Perrow).   Lawrence was happily married for 62 years. He returned to the Gladstone area where raised his family in 1962. 
 
            Lawrence is the 2nd oldest of 13 children. He is survived by his wife Darlene, who have been happily married for 62 years and 10 of his children: Joseph (Sandy) Chouinard, Steven Chouinard, Daniel (Brenda) Chouinard, Donald (Julie) Chouinard, Ronald (Jodi) Chouinard, Deborah (Rodney) Sturdy, Todd (Julie) Chouinard, Michael (Jessi) Chouinard, Nicholas (Wendy) Chouinard and Alicia (John) Collegnon, 30 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, siblings: Robert (Cecilia) Chouinard, Dennis Chouinard, Sandra (Dave) Watjen, Jim Chouinard, Sharron (Don) Stengel, Raymond (Pam) Chouinard, Gary (Marcela) Chouinard Sr., Tom (Sue) Chouinard, Janice (Gerald) Roberts, Cherese (Pat) Sovey and Terry Hudson.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law: Jerry Golden (Clyde) and brother-in-laws: Keith (Carrole) Perrow and Larry Tarvas.
 
          Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence and Fernant (Bussineau) Chouinard Sr., his sister: Mary Ann Gascon and her husband James, and his daughter Renee (1980).        Lawrence was also preceded in death by Darlene’s siblings: Lorraine Tarvas, Robert Perrow, and Frank & Penny Perrow. 
 
          Lawrence worked for Mead Paper Mill from 1963 to 1998.  Lawrence was very involved in Boy Scouts and was one of the founders of the youth wrestling program for the Gladstone area youths in the mid 1970’s. Lawrence enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, golfing, raising honeybee’s, gardening, but mostly spending time with his family. 
 
          Lawrence was a snow bird and wintered in Arizona for 22 years. During these winter months, Lawrence learned woodworking, carving, and stain glassing.  
 
          He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him…
 
          Friends may call from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday November 12, 2020 at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated PRIVATLY for his family at church with Fr. Sebastian K. Chacko officiating. Burial will take place in the Escanaba Township Cemetery.
