Lee "Dobbs" James Polfus, 29, Escanaba, passed away Monday evening December 23, 2013 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born on March 6, 1984 in Escanaba, the son of Norman "Bud" and Jody (Cretens) Polfus.
Dobbs, liked everything to do with the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, ice fishing, mushroom hunting, logging or balsam brushing every year with his father, but he mostly loved spending time with his father "his best friend", at their camp, and calling to check on his mother every day.
He is survived by his father: Norman "Bud" (fiancé: Sheri Nelson) Polfus, his mother: Jody (Keith) Russell, one brother: James Bricco, both of his grandmothers: Rita Belle Polfus and Elaine Cretens, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Dobbs was preceded in death by both of his grandfathers: Norman Polfus Sr. and Jim Cretens.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday December 28, 2013 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Lee "Dobbs" Polfus will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Bergquist officiating. A luncheon will follow services at the Granada Bar in Escanaba. Burial will take place in the Maple Grove Cemetery in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name and a memorial will be established. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
