Lionel B. LaBelle

        Lionel B. LaBelle, 90, Escanaba, passed away at his residence on Sunday May 31, 2020 with loving family by his side. He was born on September 22, 1929 in Wilson, MI, son of the late Peter and Velina (Sharon) LaBelle.                                                                          
        Lionel enjoyed his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, camping, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and traveling, including trips to all 50 states. Lionel worked at Harnischfeger until his retirement. In retirement, he was able to spend more time with his family, and he continued to enjoy all his lifelong hobbies.                                                                                                                                                   
          He is survived by his wife: Jerine (Hendrickson) Paulin, seven children: Darlene (Cam Parrish) LaBelle, Gary (Marie Cook) LaBelle, Mary Salley, Cindy (Dan Boucher) LaBelle, Rick (Gina) LaBelle, Dawn (Mike) Wolfe and Diane Stanley, son-in-law, Jim Pearson, and he was also blessed with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
 
          Lionel was preceded in death by his parents, wife: MaryLou LaBelle, one daughter: Sharon Pearson, five siblings: Evelyn LaBelle, Isabel Arkens, Vernon LaBelle, William LaBelle and Gloria Jastromski, a grandson, Adam Sullivan and two sons-in-law: Martin Salley and Van Stanley.
 
          At this time the services will be private for his family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne's church with Fr. Francis DeGroot officiating. Burial will take place in the Bark River Cemetery.
 
          In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to The Hospice Promise Foundation.
 
          The Allo Coolman Funeral Homes are assisting the LaBelle family.
