Mae Hupy, 104, Spalding, passed away Early Wednesday morning June 21, 2017 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers. She was born on May 5, 1913 in Spalding, MI, the daughter of the late Albert and Virginia (Sovey) Perry. On December 26, 1936 she married the late Earl Hupy at St.. Francis Xavier Church in Spalding.
Mae loved reading, gardening in her flower garden and playing Scrabble with her sisters. She is remembered by her family as a great mom and grandmother.
She is survived by her three daughters: Virginia (Jim) Henderson, Judith (Richard) Wells and Bonnie Forgette, seven grandchildren: James, Jason, Eric, Tonya, Ryan, Trae and Beau, ten great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Albert and Alec Perry, and three sisters: Virginia Hupy, Lillian Juneau and Eva Gulbransen.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday at the church with Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Spalding Township Cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to Pinecrest Medical Care Facility.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Pinegrove for all the loving care given to Mae.
