Mary M. St. Pierre, 57, Escanaba, died unexpectedly at her home due to natural causes on Wednesday August 4, 2010. She was born on April 29, 1953 to the late Henry and Julanne (Honkavaara) Isabelle in Marquette, MI. On October 2, 1982 she married Terry St. Pierre.
During high school, Mary attended the Baniff School of Fine Arts in Baniff, Canada, where she studied musical theatre in 1970. After graduating from high school in 1971, she went to the United States International University School of Performing Arts in Dan Diego, California where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in voice and musical theatre in 1975. Mary also recieved a master's degree in music education from Northern Michigan University in 1977. After graduating from NMU, Mary went abroad and studied opera at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria where she recieved a degree in opera. Mary has used her skills throughout her life to either sing professionally or teach others the gift of music.
Mary was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba and the Bay De Noc Choral Society. She loved spending time at her cabin, hiking, fishing, backpacking and camping with her husband. Mary also loved animals, especially their dog: Caesar. Amongst Mary's many talents, she was also an excellent volleyball and tennis player, winning many first place trophies. She also enjoyed skiing, skating and rollerblading.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, one brother: Henry Isabelle, her father and mother-in-law: Wayne and Dorothy St. Pierre, brother-in-law: Mark St. Pierre, sister-in-law: Cheryl St. Pierre as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister: Julanne Isabelle.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 10, 2010 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba. A memorial service to celebrate Mary St. Pierre's life will follow visitation on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at church with Interim Pastor Dean Peterson officiating. A luncheon will follow services in the church fellowship hall.
