Michael "Mike" P. Kleikamp
Michael "Mike" P. Kleikamp, 68, of Daggett, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 2023 at his home with his loving wife by his side. He was born on December 4, 1954, in Daggett, MI, to the late Royal and Marion (Ponegalek) Kleikamp. On June 5, 1993, he married the former Carol Davis at St. Bruno's Church.
After graduating from North Central High School in 1973, Mike embarked on a diverse career journey. He worked in various fields, from pouring concrete and working with lumber to sharpening saws and building snow plows. Mike dedicated many years of service to Cedar River Lumber Co. and then Boss Snowplow, retiring in 2017.
Mike was a member of St. Bruno's Catholic Church in Nadeau, MI, where he found solace and community. His faith was an important aspect of his life. Mike was a kind and caring person with a great sense of humor. He cherished life and fought hard to stay. His warm personality touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
In his free time, Mike had a passion for the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and trapper, and enjoyed camping, Nascar and restoring his 1982 Jeep CJ7. His adventurous spirit and love for nature brought him immense joy.
Mike was a beloved husband to Carol and a loving father to Ashley (fiancé: Robert Belcher) Kleikamp. He will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters: Jim (Jean) Kleikamp, Gary (Barb) Kleikamp, Ron (Cindy) Kleikamp, Donna (Steve) Cappaert, Dianne (Al) Sacheck, John (Carol) Kleikamp, Bernard (Patty) Kleikamp and Dave (Sharon) Kleikamp, as well as many nieces, nephews and great friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter: Karen Lynn Kleikamp.
Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday November 21, 2023 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday at St. Bruno's Parish with Fr. Benny Mathew officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. Mike will be laid to rest in the Spalding Township Cemetery.
