Nancy Fazer, age 88, of Powers, MI, passed away on Monday December 12, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, WI, from months of failing health. She was born on September 14, 1934 in Schaffer, MI, daughter of the late Earl and Gladys (Richer) St. John Sr.
Nancy was active in her community alongside her husband, Louis. Together they operated a gas station with cabins as well as a grocery store. She served as a board member and volunteer for many organizations such as Whispering Pines and North Central School Board.
She was a lifelong member of St. John Neumann Parish of Spalding, a member of the St. Anne Altar Society, and taught grade school catechism for 42 years. Nancy always had a flair for the arts, decorating and entertaining. Over the years, she created dozens of ceramic pieces, learned calligraphy, and loved traveling. She took a lot of pride in making her home and gardens beautiful. Nancy enjoyed entertaining, always making sure people felt special as they stopped for a visit, attended a party, or enjoyed a perfectly prepared meal or treat.
She is survived by daughter: Patricia (Tom) Simons, sons: David (Jane) Fazer, Dan Fazer and Doug Fazer, sister: Susan (Ben) Brierly, brother: Terry (Marilyn) St. John, brother-in-law: Mike Poupore, sister-in- law: Marilyn Fazer. A fun-loving child at heart, Nancy loved spending time her with grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Louis, parents, her brother and his wife: Earl Jr. and Rosemary St. John, twin sisters: Marilyn (Mike) Poupore and Marlene (Gordon) Poupore.
Friends may call from 12:00 (noon) to 1:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday December 20, 2022 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. (CST) on Tuesday at church with Fr. Benny Mathew officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. Burial will take place in the Spalding Township Cemetery in the spring.
