Orville J. Renier, 92, Faithorn, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital. He was born in Beaver Dam, WI on February 10, 1924, son of the late Justin and Leona (Jacquart) Renier.
On April 17, 1948, Orville married the former Mildred Gaede in Iron Mountain and on October 1, 1955 they were remarried at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Faithorn. They met between the milk house and the barn on her parent's farm. They have been together for over 75 years and haven't missed a kiss good morning or goodnight since their wedding day 68 years ago.
Orville enjoyed hunting, baseball, playing cards, fixing anything that was broken, singing, telling stories, and being outside. Orville enjoyed listening to the laughter of children. He also loved animals and fawns would feed from his hand.
Orville was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Spalding.
He worked for Lloyd Furniture in Menominee from 1948 to 1983, and continued working in the woods until his retirement.
Orville is survived by his loving wife: Millie, daughter: Dorothy "Dottie" (Rose Barke) Renier, brothers: Clifford Renier Sr. and Justin Renier, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Joseph, Julia, Lucille, Viola, Leona, and Gilbert, and five unborn children.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. (CST) at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church at 4 p.m. with Fr. Michael Vichich officiating. A meal will follow at the Faithorn Township Hall.
Burial will be in Faithorn Cemetery.
