Paul R. Denome, 70, Escanaba, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday September 25, 2011. He was born on August 12, 1941 in Casper, WY and raised by the late Francis and Doris (LaCosse) Denome. On February 23, 1980, he married the former Charlene Winters in Escanaba.

Paul worked at Bark River Culvert until his retirement in 2001 and prior to that he was a crane operating engineer. He was also a cook in the National Guard. Paul enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers with his family, ice fishing, woodworking, camping, snowmobiling, motorcycling and flying, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, seven children: Debbie Denome, Jesse (Jodi) Denome, David (Tammy) Lesnieski, Scott (Traci) Denome, Brian (Leah) Lesnieski, Theresa Lesnieski and Tricia (Steve) Johnson, fourteen grandchildren: Jonathan, Bradley, Ashley, Arielle, Aaron, Kristian, Jacob, Noah, Zach, Trevor, Sadie, Lydia, Blake and Allison, two great-grandchildren: Luella and Kylee, brothers-in-law: Ken (Jean) Winters and Ron Winters, sisters-in-law: Jennie (Harold) Strasler and Joann (Bob) Anderson, his special companion pet: Mollie as well as nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and an aunt: Clarissa LaCosse.

Friends may call from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 28, 2011 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Paul Denome will follow visitation at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Al Schubert officiating. A luncheon will be served after the service at Our Savior Lutheran Church (2401 N. Lincoln Rd. Escanaba). Interment will take place in the Holy Cross Mausoleum.
