Virginia "Bonnie" Janowski, 76, Fayette, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Wednesday August 11, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital. She was born on July 7, 1934 to the late Walter and Jennie (Louis) Collins in Fairport, MI. on July 7, 1956 she married Michael Janowski at St. Peter's Church in Fayette, MI.
Bonnie worked as a Registered Nurse most of her life retiring in 1996 as an RN at the Austin State School in Texas.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, four children: A. Michele Janowski of Austin, TX, Timothy Janowski of Victoria, TX, Matthew (Michelle) Janowski of Cedar Park, TX and Mark (Suzanna) Janowski of Prescott, MI, two brothers: James (Ione) Collins and Jude (Barbara) Collins, eight sisters: Rosalie Ferruccio, Catherine (Fred) Polka, Sister Regine Collins, Pauline Cleary, Teresa Wilson, Rita (Charles) Mendez, Eleanor (Robert) Thibault and Miriam (John) Smith, one sister-in-law: Eddee Collins, four grandchildren: Stephen,, Madeline, Chloe and Jenny Janowski, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Gerard Collins and three brothers-in-law: George Ferruccio, Pat Cleary and Chester Wilson.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday August 16, 2010 at St. Mary's Magdalene Church in Cooks. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at 12:00 (noon) on Monday at church with Fr. Jim Roetzer officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Sac Bay Cemetery following Mass. A luncheon will follow in the Fairbanks Township Hall.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorials be made to the Delta County Cancer Alliance or the American Cancer Association.
