Agnes A. DeGrand

Agnes A. DeGrand, 89, Escanaba, passed away on Saturday July 31, 2010 at her home just three months before her 90th birthday. She was born on October 6, 1920 to the late Alfred and Emma (Frenche) LaFleur in Escanaba. On July 6, 1940 she married the late Emil DeGrand at St. Anne's Church.
Agnes enjoyed spending time at her cottage, picking blueberries, riding her three-wheeler and water skiing until the age of 84. She also volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul and Bishop Noa Home and was an active member at St. Anne's Church for many years. Agnes lived a long and full life and will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.
She is survived by her three children: Janet Spieth, Michael DeGrand and Gary (Sheryl) DeGrand as well as her five granddaughters: Kimberly, Amanda and Nicole Spieth and Jennifer and Amy DeGrand.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her six brothers: Arthur, Will, Roy, Lionel, Bobby and Edmund.
Friends may call from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday August 3, 2010 at Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A funeral service to celebrate Agnes DeGrand's life will follow visitation at Allo Coolman Funeral Home on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. with Fr. Francis DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall at St. Anne's Church following services. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
