          Catherine Lenore Petersen, 77, Hyde, passed away on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility. She was born on May 28, 1936 in Escanaba, the daughter of the late Bernith and Catherine (St. Vincent) Terrien. On September 17, 1955 she married the late Gerald James Petersen at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
 
          Catherine met and married the love of her life; Gerald, and extended that love to her four children, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter who she absolutely adored. She was not a complicated person as she cared equally for friends, family and neighbors. In her spare time she loved to cook and was an avid gardener.
 
          She is survived by two sons: Gerald J. (Sherri) Petersen Jr. and Keith J Petersen, two daughters: Colleen A. "Petey" (Ronald) Harris and Renee E. (Michael) Stenberg, five brothers: Leonard (Linda) Terrien, Paul (Judy) Terrien, Raymond "Bucky" (Sandy) Terrien, Stephen Terrien and Terrance Terrien, four sisters: Mary Elaine (Joseph) Gareau, Sherry (John "Jack") Harrison, Barbara (Raymond "Joe") Cousineau and Pam Caron, four grandchildren: Jessica, Kyle, Andrew and Tiffany, one great-granddaughter: Lily, as well as several nieces and nephews.
 
          Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother: David Terrien.
 
          Friends may call from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday April 23, 2014 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph & St. Patrick Parish with Fr. Eric Olson officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery.
