Christopher Gerard Wohlen
, 56, Escanaba, was called home to our Heavenly Father in the early morning hours on Thursday February 23, 2012 at his home after his a two year courageous battle with cancer. He was born in La Crosse, WI on December 16, 1955 to the late John and Veronica (Lahay) Wohlen.

Chris served his country in the U.S. Army in 1974. He worked for many years at Office Service Company until its closing and then made his living with his passion for antiques and history. He was a man of patience, character and profound humor. Chris loved spontaneous road trips, "it's only a few more miles", hiking, the Packers, history, chess and being first at garage sales, especially loving, "the thrill of the hunt". Chris was also a man of unwavering faith who loved and trusted our Lord. He always said, "God's grace is sufficient for me to whatever end...".

Chris is survived by his three daughters at home whom he loved and adored: Emily, Elizabeth and Catherine, the mother of his children and dearest friend: Brenda Wohlen, one brother: John Paul (Donna) Wohlen, cousins: Mike (Carol) Olson, Gus (Kris) Olson and Kathy (Rick) Clement, extended family: Lois Jandron, Kristina Jandron, John Lammie, Bill (Brenda) Lammie, Joan (Marv) Nault, Rick and Beverly Smith, his family at Berean Baptist Church and many others who were blessed to know him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday March 2, 2012 at the Berean Baptist Church (4677 18th Road, Escanaba). A celebration of Christopher's life will be at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at church with Pastor Darin Kelsey officiating. A luncheon will follow services in the church fellowship hall.

Flowers are welcomed by his family, although, a memorial fund has been established at the Delta County Credit Union for his daughters future needs.
