          Donald "Frenchy" J. Theoret, 85, Flat Rock, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning September 22, 2013 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. He was born on July 21, 1928 in Escanaba, the son of the late Mose and Leah (Gareau) Theoret. On September 25, 1954 he married the former Pat Berthiaume at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Escanaba.
 
          Donald was a member of the Escanaba Township Fire Department, Delta County Search and Rescue, American Legion Post #115 and Holy Family Church in Flat Rock. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a Boy Scout leader. Frenchy loved hunting and spending time with his family.
 
          He is survived by his wife, five children: Michael (Maryann) Theoret, Dave (Mary) Theoret, Tom (Carol) Theoret, Barb Theoret and Ray (Brenda) Theoret, one brother: Clarence (Phyllis) Theoret, two sisters: Marie Theoret and Alice (Louie) Golembiewski, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
 
          Donald was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson: Raymond Theoret and two brothers: Richard and Raymond Theoret.
 
          Friends may call from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Friday September 27, 2013 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba with Gladstone American Legion Post #71 rites at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. on Friday at Holy Family Church in Flat Rock with Fr. Glenn Theoret officiating and Fr. John Longbucco and Fr. Janusz Romanek concelebrating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the Fr. Matt Hall. Burial will take place in the Escanaba Township Cemetery.
