          Edward "Ed" D. Wentland, 78, Powers, passed away on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 30, 1937 in Harris, MI, the son of the late Arthur and Stella (Tanguay) Wentland. On November 2, 1963 he married the former Janet Preston at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Spalding.
 
          Ed was a 50 plus year member of the Tony Revord American Legion Post #244, which he was very proud of.
 
          He is survived by his wife, three children: Edward Wentland, Keith Wentland and Kelly Wentland, one sister: Evelyn (Glen) Poupore, one granddaughter: Megan Collins, a dear family friend: Crystal Tebo, and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
          Ed was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Earl Wentland and two sisters: Gladys Worzella and Janet Poupore.
 
          Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday July2, 2015 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding with the Tony Revord American Legion Post #244 rites at 3:45 p.m. A Memorial service to celebrate the life of Edward Wentland will be at 4:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Ronald Zindler officiating. A luncheon will follow service at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Powers.
