Elizabeth "Betty" Jeanne Pepin

Elizabeth "Betty" Jeanne Pepin, 78, Escanaba, passed away on Saturday November 17, 2012 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba. She was born on February 10, 1934 in Escanaba, the daughter of the late Eugene and Elizabeth (Dulek) Eli.

Betty attended Misericordia School of Nursing in Milwaukee, WI where she recieved her R.N. degree in 1955. She worked in the O.B. Department at St. Francis Hospital from 1955 to 1970, then was the Director of nursing services at Marinette General Hospital from 1970 to 1978 and then she was the health administrator of Hannahville from 1978 until her retirement in 1988. Betty was a member of St. Joseph's Parish. She enjoyed traveling in her earlier years, and always enjoyed being called upon for health advice or first aid care by others. Betty also did a lot of home health care.

She is survived by two brothers: Harlan (Mary Ann) Pepin and James (Laurie Lindberg) Pepin, four nephews: Robert, Brian, Steve and Mike and a sister-in-law: Karen Pepin.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Robert Pepin.

Friends may call from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 21, 2012 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Betty Pepin will follow visitation at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Fr. Eric Olson officiating. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery in the spring.
