          George John Tichelaar, 75, Hermansville, passed away on Friday August 1, 2014 at Dickinson County Hospital in Iron Mountain. He was born on July 25, 1939 in Hardwood, MI, the son of the late Bernard and Harriet (Akey) Tichelaar. On December 2, 1961 he married the former Carolyn Lindstrom in Perronville, MI.
 
          George enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, playing pool, but mostly building stuff in his woodworking shop.
 
          He is survived by his wife, three sons: Roger (Toni) Tichelaar, Rodney Tichelaar and Kevin (Robyn) Tichelaar, one brother: Richard (Nancy) Tichelaar, three sisters: Patricia (Dan) McGovern, Dorothy Tichelaar and his twin sister: Gertrude Tichelaar, seven grandchildren: Ashley, Sierra, Tiffany, Austin, Dylan, Peyton and Maycee, three great-grandchildren: Ava, A.J. and Trent, as well as many nieces and nephews.
 
          George was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
 
          Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Thursday August 7, 2014 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. (CST) on Thursday at church with Fr. Michael Vichich officiating. Burial will take place in the Meyer Township Cemetery and a luncheon will follow in the church parish hall in Spalding.
