James "Jim" Lee Lautner
Date of Death: December, 01 2023
James “Jim” Lee Lautner, 70 of Wilson, Michigan passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023 with his children by his side following a hard fought battle with cancer.
James, fondly known as Jim, was born to Maxine and LaVerne Lautner in Traverse City, Michigan on September 16, 1953. On June 11, 1988, he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Sally. He held many roles throughout his life but his favorites were that of a father and grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family and always seemed to have a good story to tell! His secret chili recipe was the best there ever was or will be. His support wasn’t confined to the home as he was also an avid fan of the North Central Jets. Seldom did anyone see him not wearing something with their logo and his presence at their games was a familiar scene. When he wasn’t rooting on the home team, he enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors riding his ATV, hunting, and fishing. He also had a soft spot for his favorite canine companion, Hannah.
Jim is survived by his wife Sally, two children: Riki (Brock) Kirschner and Jesse (Hema) Gorzinski and two grandchildren: Christopher and Corey Kirschner. He is further survived by his brothers: Loren (Sandy) Lautner, Larry (Terri) Lautner, Dan (LuAnn) Lautner, and Jeff (Trish) Lautner, sister: Janice Lautner, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maxine and LaVerne.
Jim may be gone but the echoes of his cheers and the many great memories made with those he cared about will live on. Here is to a guy who knew how to enjoy the game of life and never gave up when times got tough.
Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) (CST) on Saturday December 16, 2023 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Jim Lautner will be held at 12:00 p.m. (CST) on Saturday at the funeral home with Fr. Rick Courier officiating.
