          Joanne Dorothy Pilon, 73 of Spalding, recently a resident of Tendercare Health-Center in Munising, went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 1, 2017 surrounded by her loving children following a brief illness . She was born on August 29, 1943 in Iron Belt, WI, the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Strick) Levra. On May 4, 1961 she married the late James Pilon in Iron Belt, WI.
 
          She was a member of St. John Neumann Church and enjoyed her volunteer work at Pinecrest, her participation with the Saint Anne's Society, cribbage, puzzles, reading, board games, baking and taking walks with friends. In her younger years Joanne loved playing slow pitch softball, and was one heck of a pitcher. She was also a tried and true Detroit sports fan.
Joanne was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends and all of the new family and friends she met at Tendercare in Munising.
 
          She is survived by her brother: Ronald Levra, her children: Donald (Shandra) of Winlock WA, Brenda (Bryan) of Munising, MI and Tanya of Bremerton, WA, her grandchildren: Alex, Brody, Kacie and Hayley, as well as several nieces and nephews.
 
          Joanne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Jim Pilon.
 
          Friends may call from 12:00 (NOON) to 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday April 5, 2017 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday at the church with Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. Burial will take place in the Spalding Township Cemetery later in the spring.
 
          The Allo Coolman Funeral Homes of Escanaba and Spalding are assisting the Pilon family.
