Jule R. Hansen Sr.
Date of Death: August, 09 2024
Jule R. Hansen Sr., age 87 lifelong resident of Powers passed away peacefully at Aurora Baycare Medical in Green Bay on Friday August 9, 2024. Jule was born April 3, 1937 in Powers, son of Julius and Eva (Corriveau) Hansen.
He attended Powers Spalding High School graduating in the class of 1955. He served in the Navy on the USS Rasher submarine as an electrician apprentice from 1957-1961. While in the navy he sang a solo with the Blue Jacket Navy Choir at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. In 1964 he married Mary Welch at St. Michaels Church in Perronville and they celebrated 60 years together. He worked all his life in the logging industry as a piece cutter.
Jule (Orville Hawbucker), enjoyed his many trips up the River Road brook trout fishing. He was always very lucky at the priest hole at Fazer's Camp and Camp 3 Marsh. He was a master gardener and very proud of his "weed free" garden. It was the envy of the community and drivers always slowed down to admire his garden. Most days he was either in his garden watering, hoeing or watching it grow sitting on the deck. He loved the simple things in life. HIs grandchildren gave him great joy and he was very proud of each of them.
He is survived by his wife: Mary, children: Tom (shannon), Rick (Michelle) and Lori (Bob) Linder, sister: Dorothy (Blair) Turrell, brother-in-law: Walter (Karen) Welch, sister-in-laws Carole Welch, Sally Hansen, and Barb (Mark) Veeser. Grandchildren: Austin (Lui) Hansen, Justin and Jadie Linder, and Jack and Ally Hansen. Great-grandchild: Emma Hansen, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Marge Johnson, brothers: Walter, John and Bob Hansen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. (CST) on Friday August 16, 2024 at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding with Fr. Benny Mathew officiating. Burial will follow Mass in the Spalding Township Cemetery with Tony Revord American Legion Post #244 rites at the cemetery. A luncheon will be held in the church parish hall.
His family would like to thank Aurora Baycare Team and especially Roubal Nursing Home for their compassionate care over the past year.
