Date of Death: January, 18 2024

Linda L. Walker, age 78, of Buckhorn Road, Wetmore, MI passed away on January 17, 2023, at her childhood home in Manistique surrounded by her family.  Linda fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
She was born September 16, 1945, in Denver, CO, the daughter of Ken and Laura “Pat” (DeMars) Osterhout and attended Manistique Area Schools.
The former Linda L. Walker married Paul H. Walker in Crandon, WI, and they raised their children in Wetmore, MI. Paul preceded her death on June 19th, 2013.
Over the years Linda was employed by Goodman Veneer Mill, C.C.I Forest Products Division, and Hub’s Super Value of Munising. When C.C.I. opened the veneer mill in Munising, Linda and Paul moved their family to Wetmore in 1976.
Linda raised her children and later in life her grandchildren with love and devotion, and she calmly navigated the charted course of her roles with grace, poise, wisdom, dignity, and strength.
Linda worked tirelessly in support of her family. An excellent cook and homemaker, she created a home of comfort and order.
Linda loved reading, camping, fishing, and watching good movies.
Linda is survived by her children, Paul Walker of Manistique, Cory (Ashley Axelson) Walker of Escanaba, Jamie Walker of Germantown, WI, and Damian Walker (great grandson), Wetmore, who was adopted by Paul and Linda. Grandchildren – Natasha, Jessica, Miranda, Nathan, Jailyn, Levi, Joseph, Amanda, Lindy, Samantha, Shawna, Kim, Tabitha, Brooke, Haleigh, McKenzie, Ella, Jase, Casey, and Xavier – along with several great grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Lisa Marie (Walker) Chagnon on September 22, 2010, son – Cary Walker on November 4th, 2012, husband – Paul H Walker on June 19th, 2013, brother – Ken “Bud” Osterhout on August 12th, 2019, and grandsons – Dylan Walker, Kean Walker, and Cary Walker Jr.
While Linda’s family grieves for her loss, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honors her spirit.  Her sons, Jamie, Cory, Paul, and great-grandson Damian invite the community to join them in a celebration of Life Ceremony.
Visitation will be from 12:00 (noon) to 1:00 p.m. at the Manistique VFW Sunday January 28, 2024. A service will be at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor B.J. Ash officiating. Linda will be laid to rest in the Fairview Cemetery this spring.
