          Marilyn P. Brunette, 77, Hyde, passed away on Sunday June 7, 2015 at Christian Park Healthcare Center in Escanaba surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 3, 1937 in Escanaba, the daughter of the late Edmond and Alpha (Davis) Cretens. On August 7, 1954 she married Raymond Brunette at St. Thomas Catholic Church.     
         
          She was born and raised in Escanaba and raised her family of eight in Hyde. Marilyn loved working in her flower garden, enjoyed crocheting, making dolls, playing bingo, going to the casino and she loved baking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
 
          Besides raising eight children, Marilyn worked for Community Action and worked as an Assistant Activity Director at Christian Park Village.
 
          Marilyn is survived by her husband of 60 years Raymond J. Brunette, sons: Dale (Laurie) Brunette of Escanaba, MI, David (Donna) Brunette of Escanaba, MI and Patrick (Suzanne) Brunette of Cornell, MI, daughters: Debbie (Gregg) Cousineau of Centerton, AR, Dawn Freeman of Loretto, MI, Brenda Brunette of Escanaba ,MI, Doreen Krol of Escanaba, MI and Michelle (Alan) Glatus of Wells, MI, twenty two grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, sister: Janice Cretens-Champeau.
 
          She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Donald Cretens and Richard Cretens.
 
          Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday June 12, 2015 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Marilyn will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Fr. Darryl Pepin officiating. Burial will take place in the Escanaba Township Cemetery (Flat Rock). A luncheon will follow at the USW Local 21 Hall, 1201 Sheridan Rd at 3:00 p.m.
