          Peggy Ann Hakenjos, 72, Escanaba, passed away on Tuesday November 16, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. She was born on June 13, 1949 in Shelbyville, IL, daughter of the late Charles and Velma (Carey) Gaston Sr. On October 26, 1968 she married Robert "Bob" Hakenjos in Shelbyville, IL.
          Peggy is survived by her husband, three daughters: Janice (Brian Bricker) Flath, Lorraine (James) Hellermann and Karol (Jim Kane) Hakenjos, a brother: Darrell (Karen) Gaston, two sisters: Patricia Bird and Bonnie Munson, nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
          She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: David, Gary and Charles Gaston Jr., and two sisters: Ella Mae Adams and Betty Gouty.
          Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Monday November 22, 2021 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A funeral to celebrate the life of Peggy Hakenjos will be at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Fr. Eric Olson officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery.
