Sophia "Toots" L. Cousineau
, 93, Escanaba, passed away on Friday December 17, 2010 at Bishop Noa Home. She was born on August 16, 1917 to the late Joseph and Louisiana (Sabourin) Morin in Wells, MI. On May 22, 1940 she married the late Joseph Cousineau at St. Anne's Parish in Escanaba.

Sophia worked a variety of jobs throughout her life including, housework, Meals on Wheels, whom she was one of the founders, the Foster Grandparent Program and Holy Name School where she retired from at the age of 80. She was a lifelong member of St. Anne's Parish, and also belonged to the Daughters of Isabella and the St. Anne's church choir. Sophia enjoyed helping with different church functions including, working at the St. Anne food tent at the State Fairgrounds and with the St. Anne's Ladies Luncheon Committee. She was also in the Ladies International Bowling Congress and the Women's Dart ball League. She loved bowling and playing cards.

Sophia is survived by her three children: Ronald (Marian) Cousineau, Donald (Carole) Cousineau and Sue (Thomas) Sorenson, one brother: Joseph Morin, one sister: Una Green, four grandchildren: Steven (Jessica), Kevin, Mark (Elaine) and Michael (Bettina) Cousineau, nine great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Raymond and Stanley Morin, one sister: Margaret Doran and one great-granddaughter: Abbey Cousineau.

Friends may call from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Monday December 20, 2010 at Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Monday at St. Anne's Parish with Fr. Francis DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church fellowship hall. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery in the Spring.
