William "Bill" Earl Anderson

          William "Bill" Earl Anderson passed away peacefully on September 7, 2021 at age 92, in Powers, MI. William was born in Menominee, MI to William and Florence (Westerberg) Anderson on July 17, 1929. He lived in Carney, MI marrying his wife, Patricia Cory, of Spalding, MI in 1952. They moved to Powers, MI in 1958.
          William worked for the Menominee County Road Commission for 30 plus years. After retirement he served on the Menominee County Road Commission Board for 25 plus years. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent a lot of time with his son John playing fast pitch softball, hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He was a member of the Carney Evangelical Free Church. He was also a member of the famous Carney Blackhawks fast pitch softball team and of the 1960 State Class B Championship team from Spalding. He was dearly loved and will be remembered by those who knew him as a loving, supportive father with a positive attitude, a fun sense of humor and always up for trying something new.
          William was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Patricia, his sister, Beatrice Perry and his brother, Emmett Anderson.
          He is survived by his son and wife John & Lynn Anderson of Powers, MI, and his daughter Janet O'Connor of Tampa, FL, and three grandchildren. Also by his special friend and dancing partner Shirley Bergeson.
          In keeping with Mr. Anderson's wishes, there will be no public services. His family will have a private burial service.
